Travel | Keeping Fit Whilst Travelling

Even those of us with the most regimented fitness routines can struggle to keep it up when we're away from home. If you want a break that's totally fine. In fact, it's great to have a proper rest and let your body have a break and relax now and then. But if you travel a lot, or spend frequent periods away on business trips, you may want to keep up with some kind of exercise while you are away or you'll be in danger of gaining weight, struggling with health issues and losing your fitness levels. This can leave you feeling depressed like you've let yourself down and you may find it hard to get back into the swing of things.

But it doesn't have to be hard to keep fit while you are away. Just remember, it's ok to lower your expectations, and it's important to make time to take a break and have fun while you are away too.

Find the Right Hotel

If you are really keen to keep fit while you are away it can be a good idea to find a hotel with the right facilities. If you are in the area, direct book hotel in hong kong central which could be ideal. You want gym facilities and a pool that is available all day long so that you can fit exercise around your schedule.

Go for a Run

If you don't like the idea of being stuck in a gym while you are away, head out for a run instead. Running is fantastic exercise, it works your whole body and burns calories, but it's never boring, especially in a new location. Go for a run, see some sights and use it as a chance to find some places you want to visit during your break.

Walk

If you don't want to waste your break exercising, and you've got no interest in getting hot and sweaty while you are away, don't. Instead, avoid public transport and walk to where you want to go. A day out shopping and sightseeing can burn up to 1500 calories, so don't underestimate walking as an exercise. Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes and pack a bottle of water.

Try Weight Training

Even if you've never lifted weights before, and you can only lift a tiny amount, it can be worth it. Lifting weights might burn fewer calories while you do it, but, it increases your metabolic rate. This means that everything you do after you've lifted will burn more calories. So suddenly that walk around town is going a long way to keeping you in shape. If your hotels got a gym, lift weights early in the morning to start the day right. If not, try doing some HIIT exercises in your room, while holding large bottles of water or anything else you've got to hand.

Eat Right

One of the most significant problems with keeping fit when we're on holiday is that we eat and drink much more. We drink more alcohol and overindulge on local delicacies. Try to choose healthy options and make sure you drink plenty of water to keep yourself in shape.
