I'm always on the hunt for a new mascara and is one of those products I struggle to find one I truly love.  Mascara can be a tricky thing for brands to get right with so many out there all claiming to offer similar things it's one product I stick to what I know.

I'm a massive fan of false lashes so I find it hard to find a mascara that is going to give me the effects of longer and full lashes without the need for those little spider legs we all love so much. I love dramatic eye looks especially on a night out so I always look for a mascara offering thick, dark and volumed lash effects.

We all know Christmas is my favourite time of year, especially when we get to enjoy beauty advent calendars. Who doesn't love waking up every morning throughout December to a little present?

My personal favourite is Marks and Spencer. They include a massive range of brands so it really is the best of the big brands at a fraction of the price.

The advent calendar is worth £250 but if you spend £35 on clothing, beauty or home (think smart and maybe pick up a present or two) and you get the advent calendar for £35 so £70 is a massive saving on the £250 it's worth!

I bought last years advent calendar so I was excited to pick it up again this year I'll go through each day and let you know what's in each box.

We've been labelled crazy.

Well if you don't know Anatomicals from their packaging alone where have you been? It's the packaging with the bold statements, the witty one liners and the outrageously offensive (yet very funny) named products.

So this weekend I tried to be the basic blogger and off pumpkin picking we went. First of all let's just start by thanking storm Brian for choosing the one weekend to rain on my parade.....quite literally!

went with the stupid idea that it will all look as glamorous as the beautiful Instagram photos I was wrong. With the special help of Brian the ground was soggy and muddy perfect combination for pushing a wheel barrow in. We took the kids and whilst they had a whale of a time jumping in the puddles and slopping around in the mud it's safe to say the adults didn't.

This months Birchbox is an important one in my eyes.

In honour of breast cancer awareness month Birchbox have teamed up with Coppafeel to help stamp out late detection of breast cancer. To do this? Simple they're promoting the signs that we should all look out for and how to detect any changes before it gets too late.

I'm a unicorn! Well according to Glossy box I am anyway and that's good enough for me. This month was the Mermaid vs Unicorn box and they decided what magical creature you'd be. I got the Unicorn box.

I love when they send out themed boxes and I have a thing with packaging! Any of these themed boxes I use them for storage afterwards as they're far too pretty to throw away. This month was a marbled blue and pink theme and it's too adorable for words!

As we know I'm currently deciding which beauty box is my favourite and I've got admit the last couple of Glossyboxes are swinging it that way (sorry other boxes you've got some stepping up to do!)

This box contains 5 full size products and for £10 I think that's amazing!

Inside I received a unicorn sticker (of course repping team unicorn!) The first thing that caught my eye was the Makeup Revolution mermaid vs unicorn eyeshadow palette. I am obsessed with their palettes already and use their pro palettes nearly every day so I knew I'd love this one just as much. I'd be looking for a palette with bolder colours for a while so I was pleased to see this one had 12 different shades all of which were bold bright colours. I know this will get a lot of use over Halloween that's for sure! RRP £4

Next up again a brand I love and use regularly but one I'd never seen in a beauty box was Sleek. I received their Creme to powder blush in the shade carnation. The packaging is what it says on the tin - sleek! It's a matte black compact and is perfect to throw in your make up bag. The shade is perfect for me. It's an off pink shade so know I'll definitely get a lot of wear out of this. I hate it when you end up with blushes that are bright pink and end up making you look like coco the clown on a summer vacation. This one however is right up my street. RRP £5.99

A much needed brush cleansing egg caught my attention next as this is something I've needed for a very long time. As much as I wash my brushes in the simplest way of running them under the tap with baby shampoo I was needing something a little tougher to help ensure they are as clean as the day I bought them. This silicone egg will help to brush cleaning easier and more effective and everyone knows this is one task we all want to be made easier. RRP £7.99.

Up next an eyebrow product and who doesn't love another brow product? This one is the Magic Brow eye brow pencil. A pencil is the one brow product I always struggle with as I do have very dark brows and find that they never do brow products in shades dark enough. I got the shade brunette and whilst the texture of the pencil feels amazing I don't think it will be dark enough (this makes me very sad!) This pencil is marbleised with two shades making the brows look much more natural. This alone retails at £14!

And last but not least is the Bang Beauty multi purpose cream. If you've read my blog for a while now you'll know I'm a massive fan of a product that hits multiple nails on the head. This one can be used as eyeshadow, a blush, a lip tint of a highlighter. The packaging is to die for, in a glass jar with a silver lid this screams high end. I got the shade dolce pink which I think would be a great lip tint shade for all year round. This retails at £19.50 more than the whole box and the postage and now do we understand why I rave about this box so much?

So as I'm sure many of you will have already seen Zoella has brought out a new beauty range and bloggers have gone crazy for it. It's the most instagrammable beauty range I have ever seen! The packaging is to die for and honestly is a bloggers dream to photograph.

The range is girly and sweet scented which is my absolute favourite the sweeter the better for me! Everything in the range is elderflower and pomegranate infused which I like that the whole range has the same distinctive smell and all offer the amazing benefits of these ingredients.

This post has been a long time coming but I wanted to really try out the masks and when I thought I'd got a really good account of the three masks L'oreal went a stumped me by adding a further two to the collection so I wanted to do a round up post on them all.

I've seen a few blog posts which review certain ones but I wanted to review all of them in the range as I think it's important to be able to give a wide range of information and after all my skin is problematic and changes through out the month so I always need a different type of mask depending on my skin.

So I recently went into Boots and Superdrug and caused some serious damage updating my beauty drawers with new skincare, tan products and make up so I thought why not put together a little haul post.

This post will be my first impressions and why I picked it up etc. After I've used the products and seen results I'll post individual posts on each product so make sure you keep an eye out over the next few weeks for more posts on my favourites!

Up first was Superdrug. I am loving Superdrug at the moment as I find I can get a lot more choice on the make up from. They offer a lot more brands that Boots don't including Make up Revolution.

As well as signing up to Glossybox I also thought I'd give Birchbox a go so I could do a bit of a comparison to see which is the best beauty box on the market.

I picked the same subscription which is a rolling contract so again you can cancel at any time which is £10 a month plus £2.95 P+P.

I used to be a subscriber of Glossybox a few years ago but I fell out of love of the products I was receiving and didn't get as excited when it arrived so I cancelled it but recently I've been seeing lots of unboxing posts and videos of them and decided now would be a great time to sign back up and guess what? I'm so glad I did. The boxes have definitely improved and are now full of products I look forward to opening.

It's wedding and prom season and that only means one thing....dress shopping! I recently went to the most beautiful wedding so I've come up with a little wish list of some of the outfits I'd see during my hunt for the perfect outfit!

I'm currently loving all of the pastel shades and pink and lemon are definitely a current favourite of mine so you'll see that running through this wish list for sure.

I've recently come across Esprit and they make wedding shopping even easier by dedicating a whole category to weddings (we all know how stressful dress shopping is so to have it all in one place makes it so much easier!)

There’s been a couple of articles/ discussions social media wars and plenty of blog posts about the old blogosphere recently and it’s got me thinking how much has the blogging world changed over the years.

I've never really found a skin care brand that I've fully enjoyed using. Don't get me wrong I've had products I've loved, but never a full range that was until someone introduced me to Rodial. Now I'm not going to lie their product names scared me a lot! Bee venom and dragon's blood in their product name was enough to make me run a mile! But I gave it a go and my skin has definitely thanked me for it!

Okay so the title of this post is a little dramatic but I guess it’s true! We all spend so much of our time scrolling aimlessly through all the posts, photos, tweets and pins but what are we taking from it?

Over the past year I’ve really started to re-think the way in which I use social media. It just used to be an outlet to ramble, edit photos and just chat utter nonsense to my friends. This was until I sat back and realised what am I gaining from this and more importantly is this what other people want to see? The answer was a big fat no who wants to see a blurry photo of a drunken group of girls posted 6 times all with the saturation at the next level to make us looked “tanned”?

Unless you've been living under a rock you'll have probably seen lots of ruffles and I mean lots! They're on tops, sleeves, bags, and even trousers and you know what? I'm a massive fan! I love a ruffle they're flattering and make a simple outfit look like you've made ten times more effort.

I came across these trousers and I fell in love. They combine the gingham print trend along with the ruffle trend and hey we all love a 2 in 1 piece of clothing don't we? Fashion moves far too fast so to nail 2 trends in one definitely means both my wardrobe and my bank balance remain happy!

They are so comfy and with the extra ruffle around the top I find them so flattering as they make your waist appear much smaller.  The ruffles on the leg hit the right place to be flattering and are not too long that they end up sitting on your ankle.

I wear mine with a simple black cami to make sure it's all about the trousers and a plain black shoe. I dress mine up or down depending on my mood so sometimes I'll wear them with a plain black court heel or dress them down with a pair of flats or even my converse. They're so easy to wear and definitely my must have item at the moment.

They come in a variety of colours and patterns and I can't wait to get my hands on a few more!

I’ve been hearing a lot recently on social media about W7 and I was seeing lots of great reviews. People were comparing the products as some affordable dupes for some of the higher end brands, and hey when it comes to dupes I’m always a fan!

The first item I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. I’d wanted to try one of their eyeshadow palettes as they were being compared to the naked palette. I chose the colour me buff palette as this is full of gold and bronze tones. There is 3 matte shades and 9 shimmer shades. A lot of the palettes I already own are always very matte and so I’ve been struggling when trying to add a shimmer to my eyes so this palette was the perfect option! They are 12 perfectly wearable shades for every day and this is something I look for when shopping for eyeshadows as it can’t just be me who picks all the pretty colours and then when you get home you’re like actually I’m never going to be able to pull off that fabulous royal blue colour every day to work?

The colours are so pigmented and for the price I couldn’t believe it. Normally I think you have to pay a little more with eyeshadows and lipsticks to get that colour say off but I was pleasantly surprised.

From left to right

Sand

The colours I use nearly every day are Buff to set the concealer, I use this all over the lid right up to the brow bone. I think outline my crease with Camel and build up around the outer corner of the crease with Wave. I then use Sand across the lid to brighten up my eye and use Onyx on an eyeliner brush and smudge this into my lash line.

Colour Me Buff - £9.95

As we all know I’ve tried and tested every brow product from Primark to Anastasia Beverly Hills. I’m always on the lookout for the next big brow product that will change my life. So with that being said I had to try one of their brow products and I picked up the Brow Parlour. I’ve got admit this is the only item I’ve been disappointed with and it’s nothing to do with the quality unfortunately it’s the colour. Online the palette looks really dark brown which is great as I have black hair and brows so I struggle to find brow products dark enough but unfortunately when it arrived it’s more of an ashy brown and so I won’t be able to use it. I will be able to use the gel and highlighter shades that come with the palette. It’s also really handy that it comes with a double ended brush and tweezers along with a little mirror. It really is the complete brow palette.

Brow Parlour - £6.95

The next item I picked up was a selfie powder. Now this may sound a little strange to have a powder for selfies but hear me out. When the flash goes off when taking a selfie we’ve all been victim to looking at the photo and thinking OMG what’s happened to my make up. Well not anymore! The new selfie powder has tiny blue particles which help brighten up your under eyes and stop that cakey look. This helps reflect the flash leaving your skin and make up flawless even on those unflattering angles. I’ve got to say it does look a little scary in the pot and I was concerned I’d go out looking like a smurf but when this is dusted on the skin it does set clear.

Selfie Powder - £6.95

The next items I had to grab hold of were of course highlighters. I’ve got enough highlighters you can probably see me from the moon but two more couldn’t hurt could they? The first one I had to add was because I had heard everyone raving about was the Glowcomotion. This is a pressed shimmer, highlighter and eyeshadow all in one. It’s a champagne shade and again I was so surprised with how pigmented it was. It’s very shimmery and gives the skin that dewy look. It’s not at all powdery and stays in place all day. I’ve ben reaching for it over my higher end highlighters so it’s definitely a hit with me!

Glowcomotion - £6.95

The next highlighter I picked up was the Strobe and Go! Now I’ve used one of these stick highlighters before and I wasn’t impressed as they have a creamy formula and so I find them a little sticky. That was before I discovered using a cream highlighter under a powder one! GAME CHANGER! It’s leave the skin extra dewy, extra shimmery and just plain extra! I found the perfect combination with the Strobe and Go! and Glowcomotion as they are the same shade. I picked up the Strobe and Go! In shade Moonlight and they are the perfect match. I am in highlighter heaven and you have to try that combination!

Strobe and Go! - £5.95

The last item I wanted to try was one of their Skinny Lipping. I’ve tried quite a few liquid lipsticks and I hate to say it but Kylie Jenners have always been my favourite. I’d heard W7’s were very similar so I picked up one to give it a go. I got one of their matte nude shades in Ouch! It’s one of their deeper nude shades as I feel these suit me better. This one has a slight purpler undertone and so still looks like you’re wearing a lip colour rather than completely nude. As with any matte lipsticks you have to wait a little while for the product to dry but I was pleasantly surprised it dried without drying the lips out and without cracking. It lasted most of the day and just needed topping up after lunch (drinks were fine and hardly moved!) but again I was pleasantly surprised and it’s definitely a winner with me for the fact it didn’t leave my lips looking or feeling dehydrated!

Skinny Lipping - £5.95

I’ll definitely be picking up more of their range so keep a look out for more hauls!

Okay so this weekend has been pretty big in the blogosphere and has caused quite a lot of drama. For a while now we've all known that people of social media buy their followers or likes. Which I'm not sure why, well I do it's obviously to gain more business from the bigger brands etc etc but I still don't quite understand why you'd want to do it.

This Easter weekend it seemed like everyone had pretty much had enough of this "cheating" and decided to take a stand and show people how to find out these "cheats" Now I'm not going to go into who has been accused, who does it or how to find out as this isn't the aim of my post at all (I'm sure you can find many other bloggers who have posted how to find this information out).

Make up is always changing and when they beauty blender was first launched we all went crazy. Who knew a little egg shaped sponge could change the way make up was applied?

Recently I've been hearing a lot about the sillicone blenders and discovered Base Beauty. Their new diamond blender has just launched and guess what? It's glittery! Keep reading to read my full thoughts on this new little gem.

I'm a big lover of a matte lip colour but they can be seriously drying on your lips so I'm always looking out for new colours and styles that I can mix up my look with.

I'd heard of W7 but I have to admit I had never used any of their products to start with so I ordered just one colour to see how I got on.

I'm a massive fan of a nude lip but I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone and try out a bold colour. Now I've never really liked the look of metallic lips hey they suit some people but I've never really thought I could pull off a gold or silver lip whilst popping to the local shop so I was pleased to discover W7 had introduced those every day colours (or those I'm going to try something new that doesn't look like something from out of space). I decided I didn't have many pink colours in my collection and so I decided on Santorini.

I ordered the Vanity Planet facial brush a couple of months ago and I've been trying out to see what I thought. I always think it's important with skin care to trial it for a couple of months before you can see the real results. I've been using the brush twice a day for around two months and I can honestly say it's improved my normal skin care routine and took it to the next level.

So that time of year is fast approaching. The day we all show those we love how much they mean. Now that doesn't have to be a partner it could be a family member or even a best friend. I think it's so important to show whoever you may be close to they mean something so here's some amazing little gifts you could give to the lady in your life be it the love of your life or even your best girly! We all know the standard perfume and chocolates so I'll show you a couple of items on my list this year that you may not of thought about.

I thought I'd put together a little updated contour and highlight favourites as it's been a little while!

I've always used a powder contour but recently I've been trying to get into cream contour. I thought this would work better as I use concealers to highlight my face so thought it made sense to use a cream contour.

I've recently been loving the Make Up Revolution HD Pro palette. This contains 7 cream concealers. These can be used to highlight and sculpt the whole face. There is 4 light colours perfect for highlighting under the eyes and under the brow bone. Then there is 3 darker shades 2 of which are more of an ashy shade and 1 more of a deep bronze colour and then the last colour is a banana colour which is great to balance out darker shades under the eyes.

So I heard a lot of hype around the lean in 15 books and thought I would give them a go and see what I thought. Now I'm definitely not one to diet as I love food and I think it's really important to never cut anything out but to just eat in moderation. A healthy balance is what I live by and actively encourage people to use the same rule I do which is 80/20. I eat healthy 5 days a week and then have the weekend as my treat days so if I want that pizza I will have the pizza!

Hello and here goes for another year!

I love New Year it's a time to refresh, re-plan and re-organise. I think it's important to take time in January to plan and organise. We all get new calendars and new organisers. I like to plan ahead for the whole year by booking my holidays planning important events and making sure everything is organised.

Day Twenty Five

The last box...the last surprise.

Inside box twenty I've was a fragrance. The only one of the countdown and I was pleasantly surprised. It's not normally a fragrance I would go for but I did actually love it. I've used it quite a lot since as it's quite a strong smell, something I do tend to look for when buying a perfume.

It's by Shay & Blue and is their Atropa Belladonna and it smells quite floral but also very sweet as it has vanilla base notes.
