My skincare essentials

So I'm always interested to see what other bloggers use daily and the products they can't live without so I though I'd let you know all of the products I can't live without.

My first top tip is stay hydrated. I know everyone bangs on about this but water is so important to our bodies and without this our skin really does show the signs of neglect. I can tell when I've not had enough water as my skin feels so dry and I come out in breakout. I always leave the house with a litre bottle of water meaning I either have to do a work out to carry it round or drink it to make my bag lighter!

I like to use a light exfoliating face scrub at least three times a week. I find this helps keep my skin looking fresh and helps keeps any break outs to a minimum. I like to use products which are gentle and kind on my skin due to it being prone to breakouts if I mix too many products it can cause havoc with my skin (and who wants that?). I like to use the trusty favourite St Ives Apricot scrub. You'll see lots of people talking about this as it is just great. It's amazing for those just starting out with a skincare routine too as the price point is great. It's so gentle on the skin yet leaves you with such fresh and dewy skin.

To take any make up off I use the Garnier Michellar water. I use this both morning and night and it removes all stubborn make up without the need to drag your skin. I'm able to use this all over my face including my eyes and literally just wipes away make up.

I like to use the Clarins One step facial cleanser as my evening cleanser after taking my make up off  as I find this feels so luxurious on the skin it feels a shame to put make up over the top. I treat my skin to this every night and it feels oily when on the skin but then my skin soaks it up and leaves my face feeling very plump. This doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and doesn't sting when using it.

I've never been a fan of make up wipes as for me I find they irritate my skin making it sting and my face never feels fully clean afterwards.

After my face is fully clean I like to drench my skin in Loreal Hydra active cream. You can read my previous post here. This is quite thick and creamy and just melts into the skin leaving it feeling so plump and fresh.

Twice a week I also like to use a lush lip scrub. My personal favourite is Bubblegum scrub as it smells as delicious as it sounds. I do have to resist eating the tub! This helps to remove any dead skin around the lips and helps keep them super smooth. By doing this is makes it so much easier to apply lipstick.

I always coat my lips in lip balm a couple of times a day to stop them cracking. This helps a clean application of lipstick and also prevents them from staining. I am in love with this Cinderella lip balm from Marks and Spencer.

So there is my can't without skin care products that help to keep an amazing base for my make up. The perfect base creates the perfect  canvas for your make up so skin care is so important.

xoxo

  1. Howdy would you mind sharing which blog platform you're using? I'm going to start my own blog in the near future but I'm having a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique. P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask! aol.com mail login

    1. Hi lovely, sorry for the late reply! I use Blogger but I'm thinking of switching over to wordpress as you have more control to edit your blog how you'd like it to look. Blogger is great and so easy to use for beginners but becomes quite limited - hope that helps :)
